Private equity firm Abraaj Group has purchased Dubai Holding’s 35% stake in Tunisie Telecom (TT), the Economic Times writes, citing Tunisian Minister of Communications and the Digital Economy Anwar Maarouf. The official was quoted as saying in a speech to parliament that Abraaj Group had succeeded Dubai Holding – which held its stake via its Emirates International Telecommunications (EIT) unit – as the government’s partner in the full service provider. The details of the transaction were not disclosed.
In other TT news, Tunisie Haut Debit cites the company’s assistant director for fibre-to-the-home (FTTH), Aref Gdoura, as saying at the FTTH Council MENA 2017 conference that TT had expanded direct fibre access coverage to a total of 40,000 homes and businesses.
