20 Nov 2017

Russian multi-play cableco AKADO Telecom has completed first-phase trials of DOCSIS 3.1 technology, which will eventually enable it to raise its existing up-to-200Mbps DOCSIS 3.0-based cable modem internet download speeds ten-fold. Broadband TV News reports that AKADO plans to begin a second-phase trial in the first half of 2018 in an experimental zone in Moscow, following which it intends to roll out the technology across its entire HFC network. AKADO is one of the leading pay-TV/internet providers in Moscow, and is firmly focused on the capital since recently selling its St Petersburg and Yekaterinburg divisions to ER-Telecom.
