7 Nov 2017

The Hellenic Telecommunications & Post Commission (EETT) has raised EUR201.45 million (USD237 million) from the sale of three wireless spectrum licences in the 1800MHz band. Cosmote paid EUR83.15 million for 2×25MHz blocks, while Vodafone and Wind Hellas paid EUR59.2 million and EUR59.1 million, respectively for 2×15MHz frequency blocks. The spectrum is already being utilised by the three incumbent cellcos, with the recent sales allowing them to extend the validity of their concessions to December 2035.
