Proximus, Belgium’s largest telco by subscribers, has announced its intention to offer a hybrid DSL-4G LTE fixed internet service next year, writes Datanews. Proximus has been testing hybrid internet connections for the past six months in Belgium and company CTO Geert Standaert said: ‘It’s about customers who usually get 4Mbps-5Mbps, and we can offer speeds up to 30Mbps in the future with the combination of a fixed line with the mobile signal.’ Standaert went on to say that the pilot tests have been successful and the company intends to commercially launch the hybrid service next year.
