TeleCentro launches Gigabit broadband in Buenos Aires

3 Nov 2017

Buenos Aires-based TeleCentro has introduced downlink transmission speeds of 1Gbps over its DOCSIS 3.0 networks in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires (Ciudad Autonoma de Buenos Aires, CABA) and the Area Metropolitana Buenos Aires (AMBA). The upgrade took place on 1 November. However, the advanced speeds are currently only available to ‘Triple Pack’ subscribers; the multi-play bundle is priced at ARS3,998 (USD227.4 per month).

According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database, the company introduced a triple-play product suite in April 2008, and in March 2013 the cableco became the first operator in Argentina to offer downlink transmission speeds of up to 100Mbps, via the deployment of DOCSIS 3.0 technology.
