Telekom Austria Group has reported total revenues of EUR1.11 billion (USD1.3 billion) for the third quarter of 2017, an increase of 2.3% from EUR1.08 billion in the year-ago period, with growth seen in all markets except Macedonia, which declined by 0.2%. Group EBITDA fell 2.6% from EUR421.0 million in Q3 2016 to EUR410.1 million twelve months later, thanks to lower positive restructuring charges in Austria as well as one-off effects. Telekom Austria Group reported a net result of EUR148.1 million for the three months ended 30 September 2017, up by 3.4% from EUR143.2 million the previous year.
At end-September 2017 Telekom Austria Group reported a total of 20.83 million wireless subscribers, an increase of 0.5% year-on-year, mainly driven by M2M connections and growth in Serbia (+4.2%) and Croatia (0.8%), while mobile subscriber numbers declined in Austria (by 1.6%), Belarus (1.0%), Bulgaria (1.5%), Macedonia (2.2%) and Slovenia (0.9%). Total wireline RGUs decreased by 0.6% y-o-y to 6.01 million at the end of Q3 2017; Telekom Austria Group noted that the decline in Austria and Bulgaria, which was mainly driven by voice RGUs, was partly offset by increases in the other markets.
