LinkNet, a cable TV and broadband provider in Indonesia, has reported that net income for the nine months ending 30 September 2017 increased to IDR740 billion (USD54.6 million), up 22.0% from IDR606.6 billion in the corresponding period a year ago. Nine-month revenue, meanwhile, rose by 16.8% year-on-year from IDR2.14 trillion to IDR2.50 trillion, while operating profit of IDR1.0 trillion was fuelled by a surge in ARPU, which climbed to IDR420,000 per month in the third quarter. Quarterly net broadband subscriber additions reached 13,640 and homes passed increased by 118,000 to over two million. Penetration of the number of subscribers to network coverage also increased to 28.8%, it said.
Commenting on the results, President and CEO Irwan Djaja said that LinkNet expects performance to continue improving in the coming months based on ‘increasing demand for high speed internet services and top-notch pay-TV in Indonesia’.
