Versatel 1&1 adds Frankfurt to fibre-optic footprint

German fixed network operator Versatel 1&1, which focuses on the business and corporate sectors, has expanded its fibre-optic network to Frankfurt am Main. The expansion will enable companies in the city to access broadband speeds of up to 100Gbps. Versatel 1&1 operates the country’s second largest fibre-optic network, which spans 42,000km and is present in 250 cities. The United Internet subsidiary also states that it has added around 100 business areas to its fibre-optic network footprint since 2015.
