Poland’s Vectra buys smaller cableco Echostar

Poland’s second largest cable operator by subscribers, Vectra, has agreed to acquire Poznan-based cableco Echostar. The buyout will increase Vectra’s footprint in the Wielkopolska region, which includes towns such as Poznan, Biedrusko, Rokietnica, Mosina, Swarzedz, Promnica, Lusowie, Suchy Lesie, Zalesewie and Lubon. Telko.in reports that Echostar has more than 10,000 customers on its HFC networks in the area. Financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed.
