AT&T tests 400GbE solution

12 Sep 2017

AT&T has successfully tested a single-wavelength 400 Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) data connection across its production network. The telco says the test represents the final phase of its multi-step trial. Roman Pacewicz, chief product officer for AT&T Business, commented: ‘This industry-first also aligns with our shift toward an open and software-centric network. Utilising open-source controller technology, the end-to-end service transported across the AT&T OpenROADM metro network – using optical gear from Ciena provides further flexibility and cost-effective services for customers.’
