US mobile operator Sprint has enlisted California-based cloud native communications software company Metaswitch to deploy products and technologies that will enable the accelerated development of advanced mobile communication services for businesses and consumers. The vendor notes that its cloud technology portfolio provides an agile, cost-efficient innovation platform for LTE and 5G networks, extending beyond person-to-person communications and into the Internet of Things (IoT) sector.
Gunther Ottendorfer, Chief Operating Officer of Technology at Sprint, commented: ‘We’re excited to lay this foundation as part of Sprint’s network virtualisation initiative, which we expect will deliver an expanding range of innovative services to our customers for many years to come.
