Ooredoo launches LTE home broadband across Maldives

Ooredoo Maldives has announced the launch of its ‘Faseyha Home Broadband’ service, which is available nationwide over its 4G LTE network. The new service offers maximum speeds of 10Mbps and comes with a preconfigured and pre-activated router that allows a ‘plug-and-play’ activation, giving customers access to high speed internet instantly. Three packages are available, priced at MVR699 (USD44.5) per month for a data allowance of 50GB, MVR1,099 for 120GB and MVR1,549 per month 180GB. TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database notes that Ooredoo switched on an LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) network in December 2016 and coverage had reached all 199 inhabited islands and resorts by the end of January 2017.
