Hungary’s National Media and Infocommunications Authority (NMHH) has fined incumbent telco Magyar Telekom HUF75 million (USD295,000) for infringements relating to its budget landline brand ‘Flip’. The NMHH said that the fine was imposed for ‘unjustified competitive advantage and the improper contractual terms and conditions with the introduction of the Flip Home tariff plan.’ Standalone brand Flip was introduced in May this year as a basic, low-budget fixed line brand without landline loyalty obligations, aimed at subscribers who want simple, yet high quality, ‘unconstrained’ fixed network phone, internet or TV services.
