23 Aug 2017

Comcast Business has announced the launch of 1Gbps DOCSIS 3.1-based broadband services to business customers in parts of the North-eastern and Mid-Atlantic US, including Greater Boston, Greater Philadelphia, New Jersey and northern Delaware, as well as in Baltimore, Charlottesville, and Washington, DC. The latest rollout expands on Comcast’s existing DOCSIS 3.1 coverage in Atlanta, Nashville, Chicago, Detroit, Chattanooga, Huntsville and Miami. Going forward, the network will be extended to other parts of the cableco’s footprint later this year.

Kevin O’Toole, senior vice president of product management at Comcast Business, commented: ‘Comcast is building the nation’s largest Gig-speed network. We have been at the forefront of DOCSIS 3.1 deployment and today’s rollout further demonstrates our commitment to bringing this transformational technology to all businesses in our footprint’.
