Greece’s telecoms regulator, the Hellenic Telecommunications & Post Commission (EETT), has opened a tender for spectrum in the 1800MHz band. The sale includes six packets of 2×5MHz spectrum in the ranges 1830MHz-1845MHz/1735MHz-1750MHz and 1805MHz-1820MHz/1710MHz-1725MHz, as well as five packets of 2×5MHz in the range 1855MHz-1880MHz/1760MHz-1785MHz. Applications for the tender are due to be submitted by 2 October. The spectrum is currently held by the country’s three active cellcos, Cosmote, Vodafone and Wind Hellas, but their existing licences are due to expire between 2018 and 2020. The new concessions will run until December 2035.
