Telecommunications Services of Trinidad & Tobago (TSTT) has announced that it has completed the purchase of 100% of the shares of Massy Communications, writes Newsday. TSTT has agreed to acquire Massy for TTD215 million (USD31.3 million), a lower figure than previously agreed in the companies’ Share Purchase Agreement (SPA) signed in May, which set the sale at TTD255 million. In the purchase, completed on 31 July, TSTT said it bought Massy’s retail business including 900 kilometres of fibre-optic infrastructure, which passes some 34,000 homes, and 6,000 customers. The deal also covers Massy’s enterprise business, which offers long distance termination for international carriers and currently has more than 50 corporate customers receiving data circuits. TSTT received the required regulatory approvals on 26 July and it said the purchase of Massy was in line with the company’s strategy for inorganic growth through mergers and acquisitions.
