From 1 November 2017 Hungarian incumbent Magyar Telekom’s operations for SME customers will be restructured: small business/SOHO customers will be managed within its Consumer segment, and medium-sized businesses within its T-Systems Hungary division (currently specialised in large business customers). The telco’s management says that it will benefit from synergies created by merging the Consumer and SOHO segments. Magyar Telekom provides telecoms/IT services to more than 200,000 SME customers (a figure reached in 2013).
Total domestic revenues for Magyar Telekom increased by 10.2% year-on-year in Q2 2017 to HUF140.8 billion (USD545 million), primarily due to significantly higher Systems Integration/IT revenues (rising by HUF11.0 billion year-on-year to HUF24.1 billion), coupled with increased mobile data and mobile equipment sales (as total mobile revenues grew by 4.3% in Q2 2017 versus Q2 2016, to HUF72.0 billion). Fixed line revenues slightly declined, driven by lower retail voice and broadband revenues, which offset growth in TV and equipment sales.
