Russian multi-regional fixed broadband operator ER-Telecom (Dom.ru) has applied for permission from the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) to place takeover bids for a group of six cable TV/broadband providers owned by Strela Telecom in the Irkutsk and Tomsk regions. The six companies are valued collectively at around RUB816 million (USD13.6 million), according to ComNews, whilst the ownership of Strela Telecom is registered to Elbrus Capital Investments (Cyprus).

ER-Telecom has continued a strategy of acquiring regional/city cablecos/telcos this year, having agreed to acquire Novosibirsk-based ISP Kraftsvyaz earlier this month, following its takeover of a larger Novosibirsk firm, Novotelecom (Electronic City), announced earlier in the year, whilst it also recently received FAS permission to proceed with a proposed takeover of Volgograd city operator Columbia Telecom.
