Telekom Austria reports 4% rise in Q2 revenue

Telekom Austria Group has reported total revenues of EUR1.08 billion (USD1.2 billion) for the second quarter of 2017, an increase of 4.0% from EUR1.04 billion in the year-ago period, with service revenue growth seen in all markets except Serbia and Macedonia. Group EBITDA rose 7.8% from EUR333.3 million in Q2 2016 to EUR359.3 billion twelve months later, mainly due to growth in Belarus (+44.9%), Austria (4.8%), Bulgaria (8.6%), Croatia (7.7%) and Macedonia (19.5%). Telekom Austria Group reported a net result of EUR112.5 million for the three months ended 30 June 2017, up by 36.5% from EUR82.4 million the previous year.

At 30 June 2017 Telekom Austria Group reported a total of 20.68 million wireless subscribers, an increase of 1.0% year-on-year, mainly driven by M2M connections and growth in Serbia, Croatia and Bulgaria, while mobile subscriber numbers declined in Belarus, Macedonia and Austria. Total wireline RGUs decreased by 0.1% y-o-y to 5.90 million at mid-2017.
