Finnish multi-service operator DNA has published its financial results for the period ended 30 June 2017, reporting ‘a strong first half’, noting that turnover and profitability both increased in the second quarter of the year. DNA recorded revenues of EUR219.3 million (USD247 million), representing year-on-year growth of 4.3%, with EBITDA in 2Q17 standing at EUR67.6 million, up from EUR58.6 million in the corresponding period of 2016. Net profit in the second quarter of 2017 totalled EUR22.5 million, up from EUR15.9 million a year earlier. Meanwhile, with regards to the performance over the first six months of 2017, DNA’s total turnover was EUR432.7 million, up by 5.0% y-o-y, with EBITDA in the half totalling EUR133.6 million (+12.5%) and net profit more than 28% higher than in H1 2016 at EUR43.7 million.
In operational terms, at the end of June 2017 DNA had a mobile subscriber base of 2.754 million, up from 2.668 million a year earlier, of which 41,000 were signed up to an MVNO offering services over its infrastructure. In the fixed line arena, broadband accesses totalled 449,000 at the end of the reporting period, up 2.0% y-o-y, though voice subscribers continued to decline, falling to 59,000 at mid-2017, from 71,000 at end-June 2016.
