Globe commences Massive MIMO deployment; initial rollout covers 150 cell sites in Northern, Southern Luzon

14 Jul 2017

Globe Telecom of the Philippines has announced that the first phase of its massive multiple-input, multiple-output (Massive MIMO) network deployment is now underway. According to an official company press release, the initial rollout will cover 150 wireless broadband sites, located mostly in Southern Luzon and Northern Luzon. The deployment follows testing in the Makati Financial District earlier this year. The new network makes use of Globe’s spectrum assets in the 2600MHz band, following the partial acquisition of San Miguel Corp’s telecoms assets in May this year.
