Claro Brasil has announced that it has launched commercial 4.5G services in Brasilia, in partnership with Chinese vendor Huawei. The telco claims that the network – which utilises 4×4 massive multiple-input, multiple-output (4×4 Massive MIMO) technology alongside 256QAM functionality – is the first of its kind to go live in Brazil. End-users can expect to experience download transmission speeds of up to 250Mbps via the new network, the official press release notes.
Paulo Cesar Teixeira, CEO of Claro Brasil, commented: ‘Claro has always been a front-runner in Brazil’s mobile communications market … Claro will make the best use of the recently acquired 700MHz frequency band, as a part of our ongoing effort to build a top-quality, next-gen mobile network nationwide.’
