21 Jun 2017

Japan’s NTT Communications Corp (NTT Com) has launched its ‘NTT SD-WAN Service Portfolio’ in more than 190 countries across the globe, in what it claims is the widest rollout of software-defined WAN (SD-WAN) to date. The carrier notes that its deployment also marks the world’s first 100% software defined networking (SDN), to serve as a framework for the SD-WAN service ‘to ensure flexibility and fast service deployment speeds’. In the press release, NTT Com reports that the key features of the new SD-WAN Service Portfolio include real-time streaming network analytics, enterprise connectivity flexibility, CPE flexibility, optimised local ISP selection and routing, enhanced quality of service (QoS), secure web gateways and application acceleration, and customer support.
