Movistar launches FTTH in six Colombian cities

Telefonica Colombia (Movistar) has announced that it has launched commercial fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) services in six cities, namely: Cartagena, Cali, Jamundi, Ibague, Chia and Cajica. The network, which delivers peak downlink transmission speeds of up to 100Mbps, will be extended to other locations in due course. According to the telco, a broadband-only subscription package is priced at COP210,000 (USD72) per month, while its triple-play service (including IPTV and VoIP) retails for COP244,900 per month.
