Charter rejected USD100bn Verizon takeover, reports says

2 Jun 2017

Verizon Communications has made a takeover offer for Charter Communications worth more than USD100 billion, the New York Post reports, citing three separate sources. However, the bid – which was in the region of USD350 and USD400 per share – was rejected by Charter parent company Liberty Media as being too low. Verizon CEO Lowell McAdam has previously been quoted as saying that a tie-up with Charter makes ‘industrial sense’.
