Iran's TCI taps Huawei for network upgrade

State-owned Telecommunication Company of Iran (TCI) is working with Huawei of China on the integration and upgrade of its fixed and mobile networks. According to a report from The Financial Tribune, the planned work incorporates two individual projects, IP Network Integration (IPNI), which will include the evolution of mobile backhaul networks, and the upgrading of Iran’s transmission technology using Huawei’s Packet Optical Transport Network (POTN). The planned work will cut operational costs and enhance the quality of both fixed and mobile services, TCI says.
