18 Apr 2017

Vietnamese mobile operator VNPT-Vinaphone has expanded its 4G network to the province of Ca Mau. The company switched on the country’s first commercial LTE service on the island of Phu Quoc in Kien Giang province in November last year, having been awarded an 1800MHz 4G spectrum licence by the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) one month earlier, and the network was expanded to Binh Duong province last month. Going forward, VNPT-Vinaphone aims to install 15,000 4G base transceiver stations (BTS) nationwide by the end of 2017.
