RCS&RDS to float 25% stake on stock market next month

Further to TeleGeography’s CommsUpdate report in March, Digi (Romania Cable Systems [RCS&RDS]) has announced in a company press release its intention to list 25% of its business on the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BSE) in May through an initial public offering (IPO). The telco announced that full details of the offer would be included in a forthcoming prospectus to be produced by the company after the offer is granted approval from the Authority for the Financial Markets in the Netherlands.

Digi operates in both Romania and Hungary and covers 62% and 24% of households with fibre broadband respectively. The company currently claims 98% 3G mobile population coverage and 37% 4G LTE coverage in Romania. According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database, RCS&RDS had approximately 2.08 million broadband customers at the end of December 2016, while the company’s mobile subscriber base stood at around 3.2 million at the same date.
