VEON lists on Euronext Amsterdam

Amsterdam-headquartered, Russian-backed multinational telecoms group VEON (formerly VimpelCom) began trading its shares on the Euronext Amsterdam exchange yesterday (4 April 2017). VEON continues to trade on the NASDAQ Global Select Market in the US, and the company’s announcement added that no new shares are issued in connection with the dual listing. Current market capitalisation amounts to over USD7 billion. Jean-Yves Charlier, CEO of VEON, said: ‘Listing in Amsterdam is a major milestone in our transformation, as we build a global technology company … Trading on the Euronext Amsterdam will give us stronger access to European investors and the opportunity for inclusion in key indices.’ VEON’s headquarters has been based in the Netherlands since 2010.
