Lebanon’s new Telecommunications Minister Jamal Jarrah claimed on Tuesday that 85% of Lebanese territory will be covered by 4G LTE mobile broadband network services by the end of March. As quoted by Lebanon’s Daily Star, the minister told the ArabNet conference: ‘By the end of March, the ministry aspires to spread 4G connection to 85% of the Lebanese territory’ despite acknowledging that many parts of Lebanon do not yet have access to the 4G services launched by state-backed cellcos Touch and Alfa in May 2013.
