Crnogorski Telekom launches VDSL

14 Feb 2017

Montenegro’s largest fixed network operator Crnogorski Telekom has introduced commercial VDSL services for consumers and businesses under the ‘turboDSL’ banner, augmenting its existing range of ADSL and direct fibre broadband access. The new higher speed DSL connections are available to residential customers in its ‘Extra Duo’ packages with speeds capped at 20Mbps download/2Mbps upload, and in its ‘Magenta 1’ converged fixed/mobile packages at speeds up to 40Mbps (download), compared to the existing ADSL peak performance of 8Mbps and the 80Mbps fibre service available to Magenta 1 subscribers in selected areas. Crnogorski Telekom notes on its website that the new VDSL option enables a significant internet speed boost on copper lines in areas where users cannot currently access direct fibre broadband, which it says is ‘particularly important for suburban zones’.
