Wari Group in Tigo Senegal takeover talks

Senegal-based Wari Group is in talks to buy Millicom International Cellular’s (MIC’s) Tigo Senegal unit, reports Dakaractu. According to the local news site, Wari CEO Kabirou Mbodje is in advanced stage talks with MIC’s management over the proposed takeover of Tigo, Senegal’s second largest cellco by subscribers. No official announcement has yet been made on the deal, although the proposed takeover coincides with widespread speculation that MIC is planning to sell off its remaining African subsidiaries.
