Vodafone Hungary has upgraded its commercial 4G LTE mobile services in the capital city Budapest with ‘4G+’ LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) technology by switching on additional frequencies, the Budapest Business Journal reports. Vodafone has launched 1800MHz LTE network services in Budapest and its surrounding areas, augmenting existing 800MHz LTE services (launched in November 2014) and doubling 4G-dedicated bandwidth from 2×10MHz to 2×20MHz, explained Technology Director Amrita Gangotra. CEO Alexandre Froment-Curtil added: ‘This move allows even more customers to use our mobile internet services, as well as responding to their rising speed and data volume demands.’ The latest rollout from the UK-backed cellco followed a project to improve 3G indoor mobile coverage in Budapest.
