You’ve got to Smile: Digicel Fiji launches SIM with unlimited on-net usage

3 Feb 2017

The Fiji Times reports that domestic mobile operator Digicel has launched a new mobile phone service called ‘Smile’ for customers in the Western and Northern divisions. The new service costs FJD3 (USD1.50) per week, enabling users to make unlimited on-net calls and texts, while off-net mobile calls are priced at FJD0.21 per minute. Moreover, people signing up to the service can also buy internet access after purchasing a Smile SIM card, while it is also offering special deals for calls to ten international destinations including Australia and New Zealand. The Smile service is available to customers from Navua to Korovou and all across Vanua Levu. Digicel Fiji CEO Darren McLean claimed the new service would revolutionise the mobile telecommunications industry in the country. ‘This price plan is all about getting free credit to call any network any day of the week,’ he said.
