Tigo Paraguay has agreed to acquire a pair of cable operators situated in the Alto Parana department, Ultimo Hora reports. The cablecos in question have been named as Ciudad del Este-based Get-Line and Cable Tres Fronteras, which serves Presidente Franco. Once acquired, the pair are expected to be rebranded using the telco’s favoured ‘Tigo Star’ branding, with a full integration likely to be complete within eight-to-twelve months. Company representative Raul Ibanez told the news site that both deals received regulatory approval in December 2016.
Previously, in February 2016, Tigo acquired another Alto Parana-based operator, TV Cable Parana. Going forward, Tigo is said to be eyeing takeover opportunities in areas such as Coronel Oviedo, Caaguazu, Villarrica, Concepcion and Pedro Juan Caballero.
