VivaCell-MTS says planned 4G expansion will boost coverage to 52.5% of the population

Armenian mobile network operator (MNO) VivaCell-MTS says that since its launch in 2010, its 4G LTE network has been expanded to 22 towns and cities, including the capital Yerevan, the second and third biggest cities – Gyumri and Vanadzor – and more recently the towns of Tsaghkadzor, Vagharshapat, Dilijan, Jermuk and Armavir. As a result, the MNO’s 4G signal served 46.6% of the population by the start of 2017, it said. Moreover, the cellco is currently embarking on its third phase 4G expansion, which targets the following towns: Abovyan, Ashtarak, Eghvard, Artik, Artashat, Berd, Kapan, Meghri, Agarak, Eghegnadzor, Vayk, Stepanavan and Spitak. By the end of this year, upon the completion of the planned works, 4G will be available to 52.5% of the population.
