Telenor Hungary, ZTE achieve 1.2Gbps mobile data speed in test

Telenor Hungary, in partnership with Chinese vendor ZTE Corp, has achieved a mobile internet data speed of 1.2Gbps in a test environment at the cellco’s headquarters, reports Telecompaper. Telenor Hungary’s current peak download speed on its commercial LTE-Advanced (‘4G+’) mobile network is 300Mbps, and the Norwegian-owned operator regards the newly tested ZTE technology as an interim step between LTE and 5G mobile internet.
