16 Dec 2016

DigiCell, the mobile unit of Belize Telemedia Limited (BTL), is set to activate its new LTE and LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) networks today (16 December). LTE will be available on a nationwide basis from launch, while the LTE-A service will initially be restricted to Belize City, Ladyville and Belmopan. LTE-ready SIM cards are available free of charge at BTL offices across the country, it said. The LTE-A network, which has been rolled out by Huawei, is believed to aggregate frequencies in the 700MHz and 1900MHz bands.
