Dandemutande to acquire Zimbabwe rival YoAfrica

25 Nov 2016

Zimbabwean ISP Dandemutande Investments is to acquire local WiMAX and VSAT operator YoAfrica in deal which the companies say will ‘provide enterprise customers with a one-stop shop for all their connectivity requirements’. The acquisition is still subject to regulatory approval. Mark Kalweit, shareholder and MD of YoAfrica, commented: ‘This transaction accelerates our mission to provide a guaranteed simple and fast service that connects our customers to other people, content and online commerce. We are looking forward to developing new products and services enabled by this exciting combination.’

In 2015 Dandemutande merged with two other Zimbabwean internet providers, AfricaOnline and iWayAfrica. Dandemutande is part-owned and managed by pan-African telecoms and ICT group Gondwana International Networks (GIN).
