Hungary’s fixed and mobile market leader Magyar Telekom, part of the Deutsche Telekom group, has tested technology achieving mobile download speeds of 1.2Gbps in partnership with Sweden’s Ericsson during the Budapest Regional Digital Summit. The 1.2Gbps performance, delivered under laboratory conditions, represented ‘an important step forward in the cooperation between Ericsson and Magyar Telekom’, according to Ery Gabor, CEO of Ericsson Hungary. Christopher Mattheisen, Magyar Telekom’s CEO, added that the latest technology demonstration ‘gives the answer to the future network needs, when billions of devices connected to the network will communicate with each other’.
