T-Mobile, a subsidiary of German telecoms group Deutsche Telekom (DT), claims to be the first operator to begin deployment of tri-band carrier aggregation (3C) LTE in the Netherlands. This new service allows for greater 4G data capacity and higher connection speeds of up to 300Mbps for end-users. The cellco has launched over 450 base stations supporting the technology across more than 90 cities and towns in the Netherlands.
T-Mobile provides nationwide 4G coverage using the 900MHz and 1800MHz frequency bands, and the addition of a third band at 2100MHz has enabled the firm to launch 3C.
