Orange Spain launches VoLTE nationwide, joining Vodafone

Orange Spain has become the second Spanish operator to offer voice-over-LTE (VoLTE) services, belatedly following the VoLTE launch of rival Vodafone in July 2015. Orange has disclosed that VoLTE calling is available nationwide across its 4G LTE/LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) network, offering better voice quality, faster call set-up and simultaneous 4G internet/IP voice connections without interruptions to either. Post-paid Orange Spain customers can use VoLTE free of charge via a software upgrade, initially only on Samsung Galaxy S7/S7 Edge handsets, with additional compatible handsets to be made available ‘within weeks’.
