Cyta Hellas on the block

11 Nov 2016

Cyta Hellas, the Greek subsidiary of state-owned Cypriot telco Cyprus Telecommunications Authority (Cyta), has been put up for sale. The sale of the loss-making unit will be carried out independently of plans to privatise Cyta itself. In April this year TeleGeography’s CommsUpdate reported that Greek fixed and mobile operator Wind Hellas could be looking to acquire Cyta Hellas, though the following month the Cypriot parent company denied that the unit was up for sale. Cyta Hellas offers broadband internet, fixed voice and MVNO-based mobile services across Greece.
