8 Nov 2016

Slovakia’s second largest cellco by subscribers, Slovak Telekom, is bringing higher 4G speeds of up to 300Mbps to an increasing number of locations, reports MobilMania. The capital Bratislava has had access to the premium LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) speeds since 2015, but the company is now also offering 300Mbps data rates in parts of Zilina and Banska Bystrica, as well as to the area around Slovakia Ring (a motor racing circuit in Orechova Poton).

In addition, the operator also offers speeds of 150Mbps and 225Mbps in Zilina, Banska Bystrica, Senec, Trencin and Nitra. According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database, Slovak Telekom launched its LTE network in November 2013 and began providing LTE-A services in June 2015.
