19 Oct 2016

Slovak Telekom has announced that it has expanded its 4G network to cover 85.1% of the country’s population as of 1 October 2016. In the previous month the operator rolled out its LTE coverage to 33 new sites including the towns of Gbelce and Kosuty. The company also recently extended its LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) technology, and as a result, customers in Senec and parts of Bratislava can expect transmission speeds of up to 225Mbps.

According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database, Slovak Telekom began deployment of its 4G network in November 2013 and began providing LTE-Advanced coverage in June 2015.
