Sheffield, Doncaster, Rotherham joining CityFibre’s ‘Gigabit Cities’

British pure fibre infrastructure outfit CityFibre is set to deploy a network spanning 110km across Sheffield, Doncaster and Rotherham. In a press release confirming the development, CityFibre said that businesses in the areas covered by the infrastructure will be able to take advantage of downlink speeds of up to 1Gbps, with services offered via the company’s partner, Yorkshire-based Exa Networks, which is already delivering connectivity of CityFibre’s networks in Bradford and Leeds.

Commenting on the latest network rollout, Rob Hamlin, Commercial Director at CityFibre said: ‘We’re delighted to be expanding our partnership with Exa Networks to offer world-class digital infrastructure to Sheffield, Doncaster and Rotherham.
