CWC given until end-2016 to offload Trinidad telco stake

4 Oct 2016

The Telecommunications Authority of Trinidad & Tobago (TATT) has granted Cable & Wireless Communications (CWC) an extension to 31 December 2016 to divest its minority stake in government-controlled full-service operator Telecommunications Services of Trinidad & Tobago (TSTT), reports the Trinidad Express. TeleGeography notes that the 49% stake divestment is a local condition of the merger between CWC and the Columbus International group, via which CWC (now itself owned by Liberty Global) acquired TSTT’s rival triple-play network operator Flow Trinidad in March 2015.
