The founder of Irish alternative broadband provider Digiweb, Colm Piercey, says there are no discussions underway over the possible sale of the company, despite reports that it has signed up IBI Corporate Finance to carry out a strategic review, including a potential sale. The Sunday Times, however, understands that ‘potential purchasers have been sounded out’ concerning a deal for Digiweb which has about 31,000 subscribers and has been valued at up to EUR35 million (USD39.4 million). Mr Piercy told the newspaper that as far as he is concerned it is ‘business as usual’, even though IBI has been assessing levels of interest in the company.
