30 Sep 2016

Vodafone Germany announced in a press release that it now offers 400Mbps cable broadband speeds to five million homes passed by its network, having extended ‘Turbo Internet’ services to smaller cities and rural areas. Vodafone adds that by the end of the year, 60% of all premises within its cabled zones will be offered 400Mbps packages, having already expanded 200Mbps speeds to 93% of the HFC footprint, delivered via approximately 400,000km of fibre/coaxial infrastructure. The company also stated that 400Mbps is ‘just a stage’ as it progresses towards gigabit broadband services.
