TDC taps Viavi for DOCSIS 3.1 field test platform

TDC Group has selected Viavi Solutions’ OneExpert CATV signal analysis meter as the core of the field test platform to support a nationwide upgrade of its HFC network to DOCSIS 3.1 technology. As reported by TeleGeography’s CommsUpdate in May 2016, the operator kicked off the deployment of the DOCSIS 3.1 platform across its HFC footprint in the town of Lejre in Zealand. The high speed service will eventually enable TDC to provide 1.4 million households with broadband speeds of up to 1Gbps. The work is being carried out in partnership with Chinese equipment vendor Huawei, and is scheduled for completion by the end of 2017.
